Burning Bright_blog 3

Fahrenheit 451 by Bradbury
pg 110-178
( because the novel ends on pg 178, i will finish reading the remaining pgs for the week today)
In part 3, Montag was being hunted by the government. In the end, he survived, and he soon came back to the ruin society to lend what help he could.
As the novel ended we, the readers can see the practice of censorship is extremely bad to a society. Readers can see a connection to the novel, Anthem written by Ayn Rand. In this novel, it coincides with Fahrenheit 451 as both protagonists lived in a society that practiced censorship and both novel depicts how the protagonist struggles in the world/society. Though Fahrenheit 451 is shorter than Anthem, they both demonstrate how a world/society with censorships are dystopias. Bradbury and Ayn Rand both show us in their novel that censorship can lead to the destruction of a society.

Farenheit 451
pg 69-110

Montag in part 2 met a man name Faber who "told him of a future in which people could think..." Unfortunatley, as he broke the law ( possession of books) Beatty, the fire captain and also the antagonist found Montag unusual action that made him suspicious.
Throughout the novel, reader can see, Montag is living in a society that practice censorship; a society where no one can freely think. I can see this can connect to the past. For example people like Joseph Stalin practiced censorship. He believed that books were bad because they could cause serious harm to the society. Many of these people who enforced censorship were trying to stop the citizens from not thinking on their own and because of that they could not question the government. The issues on books can also be link to slavery in the United States where most African slaves are not allowed to read and learn. If the slaves are educated, they can go against their masters. Therefore reading was prohibited to slaves.

Fahrenheit 451
pg1-68

In the beginning of the novel, we are introduce to Guy Montag, a fireman whose job was to burn books and structures that housed them. Before, he was a burner of books, but as the novel progresses, he became more intrigue of books and what they hold.
Part one shows how a society that did not allow books. Books are considered bad and must be destroyed. Society that have this opinion are mostly disfunctional societies to me. I say this because books are very important because they fill our heads with valuable informations. Without books, societies that are full of uneducated citizens will lead the society to ruins. If i didnt read books, then i wouldn't be here writing this. I wouldn't know anything mostly if there was no books to fill my head with informations. Therefore, books are very important to my life and are paramount in education.
