The Sieve and the Sand_blog 2

Farenheit 451
pg 69-110

Montag in part 2 met a man name Faber who "told him of a future in which people could think..." Unfortunatley, as he broke the law ( possession of books) Beatty, the fire captain and also the antagonist found Montag unusual action that made him suspicious.
Throughout the novel, reader can see, Montag is living in a society that practice censorship; a society where no one can freely think. I can see this can connect to the past. For example people like Joseph Stalin practiced censorship. He believed that books were bad because they could cause serious harm to the society. Many of these people who enforced censorship were trying to stop the citizens from not thinking on their own and because of that they could not question the government. The issues on books can also be link to slavery in the United States where most African slaves are not allowed to read and learn. If the slaves are educated, they can go against their masters. Therefore reading was prohibited to slaves.
