weekly thought: When the book talked about pickpocketers, it reminded the time when i saw a group of poor kids who tried to pickpocket a tourist in Saigon. As a poor city just like London in the book, the city is full of pickpocketers who steals anything that seems valuable to them. Also, to make it worst, there weren't alot of cops on patrol in the city. One time when i went to a the market, i saw a group of ordinary kids just playing, nothing supsicious right? Well, you're wrong. These kids were planning to pickpocket a person. They mostly target tourist but fortunately for this tourist, the kids weren't able to steal anything. I know stealing from other people is wrong and we should not do it. However, the point is that these kids were stealing just to survive. They were very poor( ragged clothing and no shoes) and in order to live, they needed money but its impossible to get a good paying job in Vietnam. Its not that the kids were bad or anything. They were young boys and girls around 5-8 years old. Come on they dont know what's right or wrong. Please remember i don't favor stealing, i'm just telling you, the reader, why they had to do what they did.
